Universal Waste Container Marking Stencils

Reusable stencil sets for customer-selected universal-waste wording on battery, lamp, aerosol-can, mercury-equipment and other collection containers.

Reusable marking tools for repeated commercial work

Universal-waste programs often use the same approved wording across multiple containers, departments and buildings. Instead of buying a one-time label for every replacement container, facilities can use a reusable stencil set to reproduce consistent words across an entire collection program.

Important: Custom Cutouts manufactures the stencil or stencil system from customer-supplied information. The purchaser is responsible for confirming the finished marking’s wording, size, color, contrast, placement, application method and maintenance with the applicable authority, permit, plan or project specification.

What the application may require

  • A clearly labeled or marked waste type using an allowed phrase
  • Waste-stream-specific wording for batteries, lamps, aerosol cans or mercury-containing equipment
  • State-program differences and facility procedures checked before use
  • Other accumulation, dating, storage and handling requirements addressed independently

Who commonly needs these stencils

  • Manufacturing plants and maintenance departments
  • Hospitals, laboratories, universities and campuses
  • Environmental contractors and waste coordinators
  • Multi-site property, retail and distribution operations

Custom materials, sizes and layouts

We can cut individual legends or coordinated facility kits—for example, battery, lamp and aerosol-can wording in matching sizes. Optional boxes for customer-applied dates or facility identifiers can be incorporated, but variable information should be handled with the facility’s approved writing or labeling procedure.

Available approaches can include reusable metal, flexible Mylar, economical oilboard, single-piece layouts, modular character sets and multi-panel stencils with alignment marks. Metal is usually the better fit for repeated flat-surface marking and aggressive handling; flexible material can be easier on curved containers, vehicle bodies or irregular surfaces.

Standard products work well when the layout fits an existing sheet. Larger programs, repeated assets and specification-driven designs are quoted around the actual job.

Frequently asked questions

Which phrase should I choose?

Federal rules provide alternatives, but state programs and internal procedures can differ. Have your environmental contact select the exact phrase.

Can the set include several waste streams?

Yes. Multi-legend kits are one of the best uses of this page and can be standardized across a facility.

Can you add an accumulation-date box?

Yes, as a customer-requested companion area. The facility must confirm how dates and other variable information are recorded.
