Commercial pool rules differ by state and local jurisdiction. They can control marker locations, spacing, units, character size, contrast, slip resistance and whether painted markings are acceptable. The CDC Model Aquatic Health Code is guidance used by jurisdictions—not a universal federal pool law—so every order should start with the approved plan or local inspector’s detail.

Our role: Custom Cutouts fabricates a reusable stencil from customer-supplied wording, dimensions, artwork or an approved drawing. We do not approve the marking or determine which rule applies. The purchaser and applicable authority remain responsible for the finished marking, materials, colors, location, application and maintenance.

Flexible Mylar often conforms well to pool curbs and vertical surfaces. Metal may suit repeated flat-deck work, but the operator must confirm the coating system, surface preparation, contrast and slip-resistance treatment.

No. It is guidance that jurisdictions can use when developing codes. The adopted state or local requirement controls your facility.

Can you make a full sequence instead of separate orders?

Yes. Complete pool or multi-property kits are the preferred commercial use for this page.

Will paint always be accepted?

Not necessarily. Some projects may require tile, permanent markers or specific coatings. Confirm the approved method before ordering a stencil.
