EU Digital Product Passport QR and Data Matrix Plates
EU Digital Product Passport QR and Data Matrix Plates
Custom engraved physical data carriers for manufacturers connecting durable products, equipment and industrial components to customer-managed EU Digital Product Passports.
The EU Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation establishes a framework in which product-specific rules can require a Digital Product Passport connected to a persistent identifier through a physical data carrier. The carrier may be placed on the product, packaging or accompanying documentation as specified for that product group. Batteries, construction products, toys, detergents and future product groups follow related passport infrastructure, but they do not all use the same layout, deadline or placement rule.

What is a physical Digital Product Passport data carrier?
It is the machine-readable link between a physical product and the digital passport controlled by the responsible economic operator. Depending on the applicable rule, it may be a QR code, Data Matrix or another standards-based carrier tied to a persistent product identifier.

Frequently asked questions
Does every product sold in the EU need a Digital Product Passport now?
No. The ESPR creates the framework, while product-specific legislation and delegated acts determine which products need a passport and when.
Is a QR code always required?
Not universally. The applicable product rule and technical standard determine the carrier. We can engrave customer-supplied QR codes or Data Matrix codes.
Does Custom Cutouts host DPP data?
No. These plates link to a passport managed by the customer or its designated provider.
Should this be a listing or an RFQ?
Standard 1 × 3-inch customer-supplied-code tags can be ordered through existing listings. DPP programs involving custom sizes, unique records, special mounting or regulated acceptance criteria should be quoted.
Request a custom quote
Send the controlling specification, approved code data or artwork, quantity, material, dimensions, mounting requirements and acceptance criteria. We can quote prototypes, first articles, unique-code batches and recurring production.
Standard customer-supplied QR and Data Matrix tag formats
These existing listings are useful when a 1" × 3" format fits the project. They are physical customer-supplied-code tags and do not include Connected Metal Tags software. Contract-controlled work, specialized verification and custom layouts should be quoted.

Two-hole QR identification tags
Mechanically mounted stainless tags for compatible equipment, cabinets and durable products.
