Custom PCB Marking Stencils for Equipment & Storage Areas

Exact-layout stencil fabrication for customer-selected PCB marks, prescribed statements and industrial identification based on current approved regulatory artwork.

Built from the project requirement—not a generic template

EPA PCB rules prescribe specific Mₗ and Mₛ marks, proportions, backgrounds, placement and durability for particular PCB items, containers, equipment, transport vehicles and storage areas. A stencil may be a viable application tool because the rules recognize painting as a marking method, but generic “PCB” lettering is not automatically equivalent to the prescribed mark.

Our role: Custom Cutouts fabricates a reusable stencil from customer-supplied wording, dimensions, artwork or an approved drawing. We do not approve the marking or determine which rule applies. The purchaser and applicable authority remain responsible for the finished marking, materials, colors, location, application and maintenance.

Strong buyers for this application

  • Electric utilities and industrial facility owners
  • Environmental remediation and demolition contractors
  • Transformer, capacitor and equipment service companies
  • PCB storage, disposal and compliance program managers

What to include with an RFQ

  • Exact applicable mark or required statement
  • Current regulatory figure or customer-approved artwork
  • Item type, dimensions and marking location
  • Required background color and finished-mark size
  • Quantity, expected stencil reuse and cleaning method

Stencil construction options

Prescribed mark layoutsFabricated to the supplied current figure and requested proportional size.
Equipment statementsCustomer-supplied wording such as applicable capacitor statements.
Storage and vehicle systemsRepeated layouts sized for approved placement across facilities or transport units.

Metal is attractive for repeat use in industrial and remediation environments, but the purchaser must confirm compatibility with paint, background preparation, cleaning chemicals and contamination-control procedures. Stencil bridges must not materially alter the intended mark.

Send the specification and let us lay it out

Provide the exact mark, figure, size and item application. We will not choose the regulatory category for you. A proof should be reviewed by the customer’s environmental or compliance contact before fabrication.

Existing listings are useful when their sheet sizes fit the job. Large, repeated, multipart or specification-controlled markings should come through the RFQ path.

Questions before ordering

Can I order a generic stencil that only says PCB?

You can request custom wording, but it should not be represented as the prescribed federal Mₗ or Mₛ mark where that graphic is required.

Can you reduce the regulatory mark to any size?

No. The rules include dimensional and proportional constraints. Supply the selected permitted size and current artwork.

Does buying the stencil make the item compliant?

No. Compliance depends on the correct item classification, mark, size, durability, background, location, application and maintenance.
