Industrial Schematic, Diagram & Operating Instruction Plates
Industrial Schematic, Diagram & Operating Instruction Plates
Permanent engraved metal plates for equipment flow diagrams, control logic, operating sequences, setup instructions and service information. Send finished artwork, an existing drawing, or the system details you want organized into a plate-ready schematic.
Dense equipment information on a compact, durable plate.
The air-cannon example combines a flow diagram, component IDs, control sequence, operating and service instructions, and an equipment legend on one compact stainless plate. The artwork is permanently marked into real metal with no printed film or adhesive layer to peel away.

Already have a drawing—or only a list of what the system does?
We can manufacture directly from approved customer artwork, clean up an existing drawing for engraving, or quote schematic drafting as part of the plate project. For a new layout, provide the equipment and component list, identifiers, connections or flow direction, operating sequence, exact instructions, desired legend and any existing manuals, sketches or reference photos.
Ready Artwork
Supply a finished PDF, SVG, DXF, AI or other usable drawing for production review.
Artwork Cleanup
We simplify line weights, organize labels and prepare an existing diagram for legible metal marking.
New Schematic Layout
We can draft a plate-ready visual from customer-provided system details and a clearly defined sequence.
Demonstration artwork

Example showing how supplied system information can be organized into a compact plate layout. Demonstration only—not equipment operating documentation.
Customer review and approval are required.
Custom Cutouts provides layout, artwork-preparation and manufacturing services. We do not engineer, certify or independently validate a machine, process, electrical system, control sequence or safety procedure. The customer is responsible for supplying accurate information, confirming authorization to reproduce submitted material, and approving all wording, symbols, connections and instructions before production. Drafting fees and included revision rounds are quoted according to complexity.
Custom material, thickness, size and mounting.
304 Stainless
Available in approximately .0375″, 1/16″ and 1/8″ thicknesses for durable equipment and facility plates.
316 Stainless
Available in 1/16″ and 1/8″ for demanding outdoor, washdown, wastewater and corrosive applications.
Aluminum
.040″ 5052 aluminum provides a lighter, economical option for panels, enclosures and protected equipment.
Custom Geometry
Specify overall dimensions, rounded or square corners, mounting holes, slots and application-specific shapes.
One permanent reference point for the people working on the equipment.
Process & Flow Diagrams
Pumps, valves, pneumatic components, manifolds, tanks, filters, regulators, direction arrows and equipment IDs.
Control & Sequence Diagrams
Lead/lag logic, solenoid mapping, component relationships, control sequences and operating states.
Operating Instructions
Startup, shutdown, setup, changeover, inspection, service and maintenance-reference steps.
Equipment Legends
Abbreviations, symbols, component names, tag numbers and cross-reference information.
OEM & Retrofit Plates
New equipment documentation, replacement panels and authorized updates to existing machinery.
QR & Data Matrix Links
Add a customer-supplied code linking to manuals, drawings, maintenance records or current digital documentation.
From system information to an approved metal plate.
Send the application
Tell us where the plate will be used, the environment, desired size, quantity and mounting method.
Provide the content
Upload or describe the drawing, component list, system flow, sequence, legend and exact instructions.
Review the quote and proof
Design or cleanup work is quoted separately when needed. You receive a proof for technical and visual approval.
Approve production
After written approval, we cut and engrave the plate to the accepted size, material and mounting pattern.
Custom schematic plate FAQ
Can you create the schematic if I do not have finished artwork?
Yes. We can quote a plate-ready schematic layout from a component list, written sequence, marked-up sketch, reference photographs or existing documentation. The information must be clear enough to organize, and the customer must approve the completed proof.
Is schematic design included with the plate price?
Simple file preparation may be included, while cleanup, tracing or new schematic drafting is quoted separately according to complexity and expected revision rounds.
Can you make one plate?
Prototype and short-run projects can be quoted, along with repeat production quantities for OEMs and equipment builders.
Can you reproduce an existing OEM or certification plate?
Only when the customer has authorization to reproduce the material. We do not recreate VIN plates, falsified certification marks, serial-number plates intended to misrepresent equipment, or unauthorized regulatory labels.
Are these plates a substitute for engineered or OEM documentation?
No. They are durable physical references manufactured from customer-approved content. Required engineering review, safety review, code compliance and equipment documentation remain the customer's responsibility.
Can a QR code link to the full manual or current drawing?
Yes. A customer-supplied QR or Data Matrix code can be added when a compact plate needs to connect technicians to more detailed digital documentation.
Need a diagram that belongs on the machine?
Send the system, the information it needs to communicate and the environment it must survive. We can quote the artwork preparation and metal plate as one project.
