Municipal stormwater programs can involve hundreds or thousands of drains, catch basins and inlets. The exact message is usually controlled by the permittee’s stormwater management program, outreach plan or local standard—not by one nationwide stencil phrase. That variability makes this an ideal bulk RFQ application.
Our role: Custom Cutouts fabricates a reusable stencil from customer-supplied wording, dimensions, artwork or an approved drawing. We do not approve the marking or determine which rule applies. The purchaser and applicable authority remain responsible for the finished marking, materials, colors, location, application and maintenance.

Stencil construction options
Metal is a strong choice for municipal crews expecting repeated use and cleanup. Mylar can conform more easily to curved curbs or uneven areas. Large programs may use several identical stencils so multiple crews can work at once.

Questions before ordering
Is storm-drain stenciling federally required everywhere?
No. EPA requires many MS4 operators to implement stormwater programs, but the individual permittee’s plan or local requirement controls whether stenciling is used and what it says.
Can every drain have a different number?
Yes. We can discuss interchangeable character sections, separate number stencils or complete drain-ID schedules.
Can you duplicate a city-approved design?
Yes, when you supply the approved artwork or drawing and authorization to reproduce it.
