Beginning February 18, 2027, the EU Battery Regulation introduces battery-passport and QR-code provisions for certain covered batteries. We manufacture the physical plate that carries your customer-supplied QR code, unique identifier, and approved marking content. Your organization or battery-passport provider remains responsible for the digital passport, source data, placement requirements, and final approval.

A permanent metal data carrier can help keep the QR code and battery identifier attached to the battery enclosure through handling, installation, storage, and service. Every project can be produced from one shared layout or as a variable-data batch with a different QR code and identifier on every plate.

For projects that fit an existing 1" × 3" format, these customer-supplied QR and Data Matrix tag listings provide a direct ordering path. You supply and approve the code destination and engraving data; we manufacture the physical metal tags. These options do not include Connected Metal Tags software.

Stainless steel is a strong starting point for rugged indoor and outdoor equipment. Aluminum is lighter and economical for many enclosure applications. Material, finish, contrast, plate thickness, and mounting method should be selected for the actual surface and environment.

The customer selects and approves the fastening method. For rivets, screws, or adhesive, suitability depends on the battery enclosure, environment, electrical design, galvanic compatibility, and service requirements.

QR code and variable-data workflow
- Send a vector QR file for a single plate, or a CSV/spreadsheet with one destination or identifier per row for a batch.
- Send the approved wording, logo, dimensions, material, finish, and mounting specification.
- We prepare a digital proof or first-article sample for approval.
- We engrave the approved physical plate layout and can perform a production scan check.
Preferred artwork includes SVG, EPS, AI, or print-quality PDF. High-resolution PNG may also work. For variable batches, include the identifier and QR destination assigned to each plate. The QR destination should be the final customer-controlled URL whenever possible.
